Help Build the Empress

The Empress Cultural Centre is a non-profit charitable corporation, working to create a cultural centre for the West End in the former Cinema V building at 5560 Sherbrooke Street West.

Montreal residents remember Cinema V as a place where they saw Rocky Horror or a multitude of other films. It was a hangout, a cultural destination. Then the local cinemas began to disappear. Many of the old movie palaces went under the wrecking ball, or were carved into nondescript retail spaces.

Become a Friend of the Empress Cultural Centre

Friends receive regular updates about the project, as well as invitations to and discounts on upcoming events.There are also opportunities for further involvement to help us make this project a reality. You are welcome to visit us at our office in the landmark building.
